Freezer Sensor Error
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
How to Fix
- 1
1. Check CON8 connector (Pin 22 to Pin 21) for loose or disconnected connection between Main PCB and freezer sensor.
- 2
2. If connector is loose or disconnected, reconnect or repair the connector and retest.
- 3
3. Measure sensor resistance at CON8 Pin 22 to Pin 21. If resistance reads 0 ohms (short circuit), replace the freezer sensor.
- 4
4. Measure sensor resistance at CON8 Pin 22 to Pin 21. If resistance reads open/infinite (open circuit), proceed to step 5.
- 5
5. Check if resistance is open (infinite). If yes, check the sensor connection integrity.
- 6
6. Compare measured resistance against the temperature-resistance table (e.g., 8k ohm at 32°F/0°C, 17k ohm at 5°F/-15°C). If out of range, replace the sensor.
- 7
7. If resistance is within table range and no connection issues found, explain to customer that the unit is functioning normally. If sensor connection is abnormal, replace the refrigerator sensor assembly.
